LegacyApp: Support and Maintenance of a Mobile and Web App Created in the AI-Assisted Development Model

LegacyApp is an application for the secure storage and transfer of the most important information: data regarding insurance policies, assets, liabilities, documents, account access, or instructions for loved ones.

The application was originally created by another tech team, and we took it over for maintenance and further development. Our task was not only to respond to ongoing tickets but also to understand the existing architecture, stabilize the product, and introduce a process that allows for the safe, continuous development of the application.

Challenge

LegacyApp operates in a domain where technical errors can have a real impact on user trust. The application stores private, confidential, and often very personal data; therefore, every element of the system must be designed with security, access control, backups, and data protection in mind.

An additional challenge was the working model, in which the client independently creates part of the code, also using AI tools.

Solution

We took over ongoing technological support for the LegacyApp application, combining maintenance, development, architectural consulting, and verification of the code created by the client.

The code provided by the client, including code generated with the help of AI, is treated as a starting point. We verify it for quality, security, compliance with the application's architecture, and its impact on product stability.

Result

LegacyApp gained a technological partner that enables the product to be developed faster, without losing control over the security and quality of the code.

The 1000software team has been maintaining and developing LegacyApp for years. They work well with code we deliver ourselves, including code written with AI tools, and adapt it to the strict security requirements of our product.

They keep the application stable and support us with advice on architecture and security. Like any long-term cooperation, ours had its harder moments, but even in crisis situations the team stayed engaged, responsive, and focused on solutions.
